Program Developers

Stephen P. Ryden conceived the overall systems design and architecture, and performed all the programming for the original version of this program in 1987. He earned his M.S. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources, and his B.A. in Psychology, both from Rutgers University. His work experience includes both line and training positions at Johnson & Johnson, and Parke-Davis. Steve currently consults for many organizations on Strategic Planning, Leadership Coaching and Career Management.

He has extensive experience in web and computer programming as well as experience with relational databases including Access and Oracle.

Kenneth L. Sperling contributed to the development and refinement of the surveys, interpretations and recommendations, and to the authorship of the help screens. Mr. Sperling is co-founder and CEO of Compustar™. He enjoyed an international reputation as a CCI certified Organizational Development practitioner and he had over 40 years experience in the field. He was the Corporate Director of Organization and Career Development for 15 years at Warner Lambert before returning to private consulting. Ken Sperling passed away in May 2010. He will sorely be missed by all those who's lives he touched. Ken left a legacy of unconditional positive regard for all people and a profound example of enabling systems from all perspectives.

Dr. J. Miguel Bernal, founder and President of Effective Systems, Ltd., a Houston, TX based consulting firm, initiated the idea of developing this program and was a major contributor to the original DOS version in 1987. Many of the Interpretations and Recommendations in this version are based on his original work. Well known throughout Latin America as a CCI certified Organization Development Consultant, he was formerly on the faculty of the University of West Florida. He earned his doctorate at the Universidad Javeriana, Bogota, Colombia; an MBA at the University of Florida, and an MS at MIT where he was both a Sloan and Ford Fellow.

Perry Munoz, provided a new look and feel to the current version using some of the newer web technologies that can make it easier for navigation and usage. Perry comes with a strong technical background and a long career in Information Technology management and systems architecture and development. His academic and experience is in technology infrastructure and has ranged in providing highly complex technical solutions for Fortune 100's to helping small organizations and start-ups leverage the right technology for their needs.

William K. Herman converted the original DOS version of this program using Microsoft Access and Visual Basic developmental tools. Bill died in February 2003 after completing this current Internet version. In addition to being our creative genius as programmer and webmaster, he was our great and dear friend whose contribution to this program went far beyond the technical. We miss his brilliance, his conscientiousness, his wonderful sense of humor, but most of all, we miss his warmth, caring and humanity. Our world is richer for having known him and poorer for his premature loss.

We also must acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our clients who enabled us to refine the process to its current state.
